John Merkel

John started in the carpenter apprentice program in 1969 in San Francisco working as a commercial union carpenter and superintendent for nine years. He was the owner of Merkel Construction in Lake Tahoe, Nevada building custom homes and remodeling for eight years. He cofounded JM Construction with brother Jim Merkel in 1992 specializing in remodeling and custom homes. John was with JM Construction for 25 years as President and Vice President but retired in 2018 and now works on a part time basis only.

Jim Merkel

Jim Merkel originally started JM Construction/JM Kitchen And Bath with his brother John Merkel in 1992. As of 2018, Jim is now the sole owner. Jim works as an estimator for the company as well.

Michele Merkel

Michele Merkel is our office manager and also works as one of our kitchen and bath design specialists.

Brad Kopsie

Brad Kopsie is experienced in all aspects of residential and commercial construction, serving as our production manager for one of his nearly four decades in the field. He’s responsible for scheduling your job and securing the permits as well as drawing up architectural plans. He also orders and organizes material delivery.

Tom Miller

Tom Miller has spent more than 20 years acting as our field supervisor for both small and large remodeling jobs. He loves solving problems and is good at it, having worked as a carpenter and construction superintendent. Tom is proficient in the electric, plumbing, custom cabinet, and trim work fields too.

Tony Ingrassia

Tony Ingrassia is one of our in-home estimators and has also been a carpenter and remodeler with us for 14 years, with vast experience in electrical, plumbing, tile, and drywall.

Aaron Baker

Aaron Baker has a certificate in electrical mechanics from Vatterott College and ensures the rest of the crew have what they need on every job.

Mark Gilliland

Mark Gilliland has worked commercial and residential remodeling jobs for 34+ years in the capacity of carpenter, superintendent, and customer service. He’s skilled in several different aspects of kitchen and bath installs, such as flooring, framing, plumbing, and more. His training includes OSHA 10 and OSHA 30 certificates.

Greg Hawes
